Paleo-Oceanography
The discipline of Paleo-Oceanography investigates the variability of water masses of the ocean in time and space and their interaction with climate. Signals recorded in natural archives are used to reconstruct and to better understand the dynamics and controlling factors of the system Earth, in particular with respect to oceanography and climate on time scales ranging from seasons to millions of years in order to improve predictions of its future development.
