International strategic partnerships — Within GEOMAR’s widespread international network, some partnerships are strategically in the foreground and lead to joint activities and targeted partnerships.

National & International Affairs

Team “National and International Affairs” supports the scientific director and science departments at GEOMAR in facilitating strategic partnerships and cooperations within Germany, Europe and beyond. Team members work closely with other GEOMAR teams on various topics, including (but not limited to): the Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development with the knowledge transfer team, capacity development with the Cabo Verde team, third-party funded collaborations with the research funding team, contributions to international working groups and boards with scientific leaders, internationalization of personnel and services with the talent management and diversity teams, and marine technology collaborations with the technology transfer team.
